Rhône offers best of north and south with new vintage

Published:  02 May, 2008

Noel Young Wines has added 2006 releases from Château de Beaucastel to its Rhône en primeur offer.

Under-bond case prices range from £110 for the Coudoulet de Beaucastel red to £380 for Châteauneuf-du-Pape in red or white styles.

According to Young: "Customers

who value classic, pure, sensual,

balanced, European wines with clearly defined terroir characters will derive enormous pleasure from the 2006 vintage from both the

northern and

southern Rhône.

"The southern Rhône

produced some fantastic wines, combining all

attributes of

the 2004 and 2005 vintages. It was a particularly fine year for Grenache."
