Emporia to run spirits training days
Specialist spirits supplier Emporia Brands is hosting a training day on The Language of Fine Spirits for managers and owners from 20 independents in Scotland.
The course is being held on February 7 at the Voodoo Rooms in the centre of Edinburgh and participants will receive an Emporia Spirits School certificate.
The programme covers gin, vodka, whisky, rum, tequila, Armagnac, Calvados, vermouth and pastis, and will look at history, production and serves.
Emporia is also hosting a training day for managers and sales assistants from Wine Rack on February 24, and a series of courses for the Rhythm & Booze chain in March.
Chairman James Rackham said: “The specialist sector has changed massively in the last 18 months following the crash of First Quench.
“But from all these changes has emerged a vibrant group of passionate independent retailers, whose enthusiastic staff are hungry for knowledge they can pass on to their customers.”
