Greene King in Six Nations rugby giveaway

Published:  30 January, 2012

Greene King is offering rugby fans the chance to win a training session with the England team in an on-pack promotion on bottles of its IPA.

Details of how to win the prize will appear on neck collars of 50cl single bottles of Greene King IPA from the end of this month.

On-pack instructions direct consumers to a website where they will be asked a rugby trivia question.

The competition will run throughout the Six Nations rugby tournament.

Brewing and brands marketing director Dom South said: “Retailers who take advantage of the Six Nations opportunity are guaranteed a result at the till regardless of the score on the pitch.

“Big sporting events such as the Six Nations are proven opportunities for retailers to boost sales, as we saw when Greene King IPA performed particularly well during the recent Rugby World Cup. Sales are up 13.7% over the past year in the off-trade.”

Greene King IPA is also teaming up with O2 again to offer more than 25,000 England Rugby fans an O2 For England Rugby Pack, which includes two cans of Greene King IPA and a specially-made Pieminister beef and Greene King ale pie.
