Sud de France to hold organic tasting
Generic body Sud de France is to hold an organic and biodynamic wine tasting this month.
Seventeen wineries from the Languedoc-Roussillon will show off their ranges at the tasting in the Maison de la Région Languedoc-Roussillon in London’s Cavendish Square on November 23.
Maison de la Région Languedoc-Roussillon executive director Isabelle Kanaan said: “The development of this sector is a priority for the regional council, which supports the promotion of organic products through its Sud de France communication activities.”
Languedoc-Roussillon has the biggest area of organic vineyards in France at 16,462ha, up 30% from last year. The number of organic wineries grew 29% to 1,029.
The production of French organic wine is expected to double between 2010 and 2012 in response to growing global demand, Sud de France said.
