Aspall adds Imperial to its range

Published:  28 July, 2011

Suffolk cider firm Aspall is launching a top-of-the range, 8.2% abv product called Imperial.

The cider is made to a 1921 recipe with a blend of bittersweet apples and muscovado sugar.

It is available in 50cl bottles with an rrp of £2.29, initially in Sainsbury’s but with wider distribution planned for the end of the summer.

Geoff Bradman, Aspall’s joint managing director, said: “Quality always comes first at Aspall and we will only engage in genuine new product development that will drive the cider market forwards.

“Imperial had been in development for a nearly a year with a planned autumn launch.

“However, trade feedback was so positive that we accelerated the launch date by four months. We are looking forward to unveiling further innovation in the coming months.”
