Wine Rack buyer leaves for Antique

Venus wine buyer Ashika Mathews has joined the Antique Wine Company as director of purchasing.
Mathews had been with the north London wholesaler since March 2007, and in recent times had seen her brief extended to encompass the Wine Rack business acquired by the company at the end of 2009.
Prior to joining Venus she worked for Jancis Robinson. She was previously part of the International Wine Challenge team and a vineyard manager and winemaker at Chateau Brandeau in Bordeaux.
The Antique Wine Company was established in London by Stephen Williams in 1982 and specialises in rare fine wines which it sells to blue-chip clients around the world.
