House of Townend unveils £2m HQ

Published:  26 May, 2011

House Of Townend has officially opened its new head office and bonded warehouse.

The Yorkshire wine merchant’s £2m offices, retail unit and bonded warehouse at Melton, near Hull, were completed in February but were formally opened for business yesterday by Alexandra Pereyre de Nonancourt of the Laurent-Perrier Champagne house.

The Cellar Door shop at the 27,000 sq ft site allows customers to sample up to 30 wines.

House of Townend, which remains family owned, has operated from Hull for 106 years, and until recently was based at Red Duster House in York Street.
