Pernod Ricard records 5% sales rise

Published:  05 May, 2011

Pernod Ricard increased net sales by 5% in the first three months of 2011, and by 11% in the first nine months of its current financial year, to March 31.

Its 14 main strategic spirit and Champagne brands grew 7% in volume and 11% in value in the first nine months, with Royal Salute up 26%, Martell increasing sales by 25% and Jameson ahead by 22%.

Main wine brands grew 1% in value with flat volumes.

In Europe, excluding France, sales for the first nine months were stable on an organic basis, but declined 3% on a reported basis following the disposal of assets in Spain and Scandinavia.

Chief executive officer Pierre Pringuet said: “The third quarter confirmed the improved business trends since the start of the financial year and strengthens our confidence in our ability to meet our targets.”
