Launch for Hungarian wine web business
A new online service has been founded specialising in selling Hungarian wines.
The hungarianwinesociety.co.uk site has been set up by Chris Bowling, who founded georgianwinesociety.co.uk two years ago.
Bowling said: “There are many similarities between Georgian and Hungarian winemaking.
“Both are rediscovering their vibrant wine cultures after suffering under Communism, both have a wealth of exciting grape varieties and styles, and the wines of both countries remain largely unknown in the UK.”
The Hungarian site is selling a range of red and white table wines, plus Tokaji.
It is promising to donate 10% of its profits to a Hungarian charity nominated by visitors to its Facebook site or Twitter followers, with the person nominating the winning charity being given a mixed case worth £200 as a reward.
