Oddbins to close 39 stores

Oddbins is to close 39 store as part of a strategic review.

The company announced last week that it had appointed Spectrum Corporate Finance to advise it on its "strategic options”.

The company said in a statement today: “Oddbins has announced today that, due to the tough economic climate, the business is being restructured with the result that 39 branches across the UK will be closed over the coming weeks.

“The staff have been informed today.

“The decision is part of a complete strategic review to ensure the business can move forward on a solid footing.”

The chain had 132 stores as of January this year.
