Call for entries from franchisors

Published:  24 March, 2011

Nominations for the BFA HSBC Franchisor of the Year Awards close on March 31, and “innovative and entrepreneurial franchisors that have excelled in 2010” are being asked to send in entries.

The BFA and its sponsors HSBC and Express Newspapers are calling for Britain’s best franchisors to step forward and highlight the quality of franchising across all business sizes and sectors, including the drinks industry.

Final applications are being welcomed for The BFA HSBC Franchisor of the Year Award, The HSBC Franchisee Support Award and The Express Newspapers Brand Builder of the Year Award.

BFA director general Brian Smart said: “The awards aim to inspire the next generation of franchisors and franchisees, by providing a powerful and well-respected stage to demonstrate success and endorse those that are leading the way.”

Cathryn Hayes, head of franchising at HSBC, said: “The unpredictable economy has seen many established businesses struggle, so the awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise those franchisors that have implemented successful strategies, which have not only helped franchisees weather the recession, but to thrive."

Franchisors are invited to enter one, two or all three categories. The deadline for entries is in one week and national finalists will be invited for interview with the judging panel on May 4 and 5. Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on June 16.

Entry forms can be downloaded from thebfa.org.
