Pints mean prizes 2007

Published:  23 March, 2007

It's that time of year again - the International Beer Challenge is opening for entries

Beer producers are invited to enter this year's International Beer Challenge, the world's largest packaged beer competition .

Held in association with Off Licence News, the challenge rewards the finest beers from a round the globe and is supported by some of the world's biggest brewers.

Beers are divided into 12 classes and a team of judges, headed by esteemed beer writer Jeff Evans, will assess all entered beers on taste and packaging.

Winn ers from each class and the overall supreme champion will be presented with their prizes at a ceremony in October.

They will also be published in the list of the World's 50 Best Beers and given plenty of publicity through PR, national retailer support and promotional features.

Changes to this year's event include moving the judging to London's Brewer's Hall and increasing the number of judges.

Cider has also been dropped from the competition to allow the judges to focus fully on beer.

It is hoped that more beer producers - from smaller independent brewers to international producers - will enter their products this year.

PDF entry kits will be available from April 2 and hard copies will follow. Call Jessica Canfor on 01293 867644, e-mail jessica.canfor@william-reed.co.uk, or check the website www.ibd-awards.com
