Will you be going to the LIWSF?
"Unfortunately not. Because of man power it's hard to get time . Plus there's so much under one roof - at a standard tasting I prefer to taste 30 or 40 wines, from my point of view that's the most educational way . Some of my wine suppliers will be at the fair and they can pass information on to me."
David Henderson
Henderson Wines, Edinburgh
"Of course. A lot of our suppliers have stands and it's important to meet producers and see what's there. Wines from Austria is a highlight for me after doing my dissertation on Austrian wines. I remember last year thinking the Sputnik stand was quite interesting!"
John Boyden
Quaff Fine Wine , Hove
"I don't have the time . We tend to get suppliers to come to us and show us their new wines , then organise tastings with customers and get feedback."
James Stuart
Woods Wines, Nettlebed, Henley
" We go every year. Usually three staff members go . We go to other trade tastings too, like Bibendum and New Zealand wines - as many as we can manage time-wise."
Val Hayes
Wiland Wines, Leicester
" Absolutely not. I have a very small trading footprint so it's not beneficial. I don't go to exhibitions or trade tastings unless they're local ."
Tony Buckridge
Four Walls Wines, Chilgrove
"We used to go, but don't any more. I've been in the trade for 30 years and my husband, 35 to 40 years - we know what we're doing and where to look. The fair can be overwhelming . We used to go round and see people that we needed to , but if you read magazines like OLN you don't need to."
