Origin reveals Stormhoek plans

Published: 11th March 2008

Written by: Rebecca Evans

Stormhoek’s new owner Origin Wines has pledged to continue with the brand's trademark innovative marketing.

Blogger and illustrator Hugh McLeod will carry on working with the brand, and further viral marketing campaigns are planned.

Origin is recruiting a marketing manager, who will be expected to develop both traditional campaigns and innovative web-based activity. Origin’s managing director Bernard Fontannez said: “We will carry on with the viral and web activity, but also think we need to address the conventional side of things too such as more trade advertising.” The marketing manager will report into Jon Woodriffe, managing director of Origin’s UK office.

Origin bought Stormhoek, South African stablemate Fairhills and Australian brand Camden Park from administrators in February after original owners Orbital collapsed into administration.
